The seminar under the project " Education youth on minority rights "

Representatives of the Local Democracy Agency participated in an international seminar under the project "Education youth on minority rights", which was held from 2 to 9 April 2013th year in Mostar.

The goal of this project was to provide "tools" to the participants that will be useful in raising awareness of children (young people) about the importance of involving others (children) with different social background, and make them the main actors in this process of change, improving mutual dialogue between majority and minority.

Young people in this training primarily had the opportunity to share not only the experiences and best practices on the issue of minorities and their rights, but also to discuss the obstacles and ideas on how to improve social inclusion of children who came from different minority backgrounds.

Details LDA, in partnership with nine organizations from the European Union and South East Europe, began with the implementation of the project “Education youth on minority rights ", funded by the Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual concept and Culture (EACEA), through the Youth in Action programme(EU ).

This project was conceived as a seven-day training, which was organized in Mostar, with the participation of 30 young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Estonia, Czech Republic, Portugal and Italy.

The basic methodologies that participants used during the training were informal education, complemented with theory and practical examples. The method included group discussions, roundtables, roleplays, simulations and a variety of dynamic activities of highlighting creativity.
